Minnie Mouse Street Style!

Hello fabulous people! Welcome back to my blog!

Today’s ensemble contains two of my favorite styles: 1. Overalls 2. Comfy sweaters. Well, let’s get into this look!

Let’s start with this jumper! I don’t think I’ve ever searched for anything harder in my LIFE!!!! About a year and a half ago, I was walking through the mall and wandered into H&M. While cruisin’ through the store I saw this unique denim jumper dress on the mannequin and immediately fell in love. It was a solid piece of denim goodness, but it was $60.00!!! No ma’am. So, I left it alone and figured my size would still be there when it went on sale. I went back two weeks later AND THEY WERE ALL GONE!!!!! One of the saddest days of my life. Next step? I went online, but they were sold out as well. A few months later, on a family vacation in Florida, we stopped by an outlet and they had H&M. So, I searched high and low and I found the denim jumper dress!! It was the only one left and hidden in the sale section!! I was elated, but then I glanced at the size…..12!!! Ugh, I still tried it on to see of I could at least take it in a bit, but it was waaaay too big. Some months later, a few ladies from my church went on a shopping trip another outlet and of course, H&M was there. By that time I had forgotten ALL about the freaking dress. So, I’m looking around the sale section and what do I see??? That freaking dress. I took a deep sigh, collected my thoughts and went over. Not only did they have my size. but they had EVERY SIZE!!!! I grabbed sizes 2 – 8 and ran to the fitting rooms. Yall, God is so good. I walked out with my denim jumper dress for only $20.00. He may not come when you want him, but he’ll be there right on time!

This dress is light wash denim and hugs in all the right places. I paired it with a slightly over sized, cream sweater to add a comfort feel to the outfit. Rolling the sleeves up also adds a bit of edge and purpose. Although this denim jumper dress has silver buttons, it also has gold-ish/brown stitching, which allowed me to wear my gold earrings (y’all know silver isn’t my thing.)

So where does the Minnie Mouse part come in? I’d just had my crochet braids installed the day before and my head was EXTREMELY tender. So, I put quite a few products around my edges and wrapped a scarf around it in hopes that it would heal [FYI – it didn’t work lol] Once my sister saw me I was referred to as “Minnie Mouse” for the rest of the day! The colors of the scarf also tie in the brown stitching from the dress and the camel colored boots! Speakiing of boots…..

20180115_160555fftggyhI got these cuties from Shoe Dazzle last year AND they were on sale, which means… I got a black pair too! They have a rounded toe, they lace all the way up to the knee, and there is a zipper detail on the inside. I love that the lace up detail is really functional! My legs are a tad small, so I actually had to tie the boot to fit my leg! Plus, this color goes with anything! Check out my Instagram OOTD highlights for more looks with these boots!

The sun was out and was NOT playing with us that day, so these brown sun glasses (Charming Charlie) were a MUST!!! For once, I decided not to knock people over the head with my earrings lol So, I went with a simpler statement piece.

Well, that’s all for now folks! Thank you so much for coming back! I will be back soon!!

Love & Peace,

Allyssa K. Blair
